How to Practice Self-Care in the Winter with Babbleboxx

**This post is sponsored by Babbleboxx. All opinions are my own.

The winter season can be brutal. Cold weather, busy schedules, holiday shopping, holiday cooking, holiday prepping and the list goes on. It can be easy to forget about setting aside time for yourself during this busy season. During this time, I tend to get dry skin, brittle nails, acne from stress, lack of sleep and piles of undone laundry. I'll be sharing my best tips to practice self-care during the winter season.

Don't skip that mani/pedi

Our skin takes a hit during the winter. Dry skin is especially common in the winter months, when the humidity level outside drops. When the air outside is cold and dry, the water in your skin evaporates more quickly; this makes your skin feel dry and tight, and makes it look flaky. The heels of my feet are TRAGIC during these months. I will slap on some lotion on them after a shower but it honestly is not enough. The next day they are right back to dry and cracked feet. I've been using Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair which is an exfoliating moisturizer that is clinically proven to hydrate/moisturize dry feet while exfoliating away dead skin. I will slather it onto my heels after a hot bath and cover my feet with socks. I can find incredible results in one day. My heels are smooth and exfoliated after one use of Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair.

The other star product by Kerasal is the Multi-Purpose Nail Repair. During this season, I am washing my hands constantly mainly to prevent getting sick from a cold or flu. The constant wetting and drying makes them dry and brittle. They become even worse in the winter months because of the low humidity in the air. Multi-Purpose Nail Repair has helped me combat discoloration, dryness and damaged nails. After a week of use, I started to see a healthier appearance on my nails.

These products can be found on Amazon and Target.

Don't forget about your skin

If there is one skin problem I have throughout the year, it's dry skin patches on my face. I especially experience these patches around my mouth. In the past few years, I started using a mist to give my skin some extra hydration. I've been using Humphreys Rose Alcohol Free Mist which contains certified organic witch hazel, rose water and hyaluronic acid. I apply a mist after I cleanse my face or after applying makeup. It has helped to hydrate and soften my skin during the harsh winter season.

During this time of year, I get busy and stressed out. I tend to break out more when I'm stressed out. It usually ends up somewhere obnoxious like the middle of my forehead. THE WORST! I've been looking for a pimple treatment that is fast acting and has a maximum strength. AcneFree Terminator10 Spot Treatment is dermatologist-recommended and contains maximum strength 10% Benzoyl Peroxide to quickly treat unexpected blemishes and stop new ones from forming. I also love that it contains chamomile and ginger to calm the skin.

If you use code BABBLE at checkout on www.acnefree.com, you will receive 15% off plus a free sample Oil Free Cleanser with your purchase. Code is valid through December 31, 2020 (while supplies last) and is one-time use per person.

Don't skip on sleep

I suffer from mild anxiety. Along with that anxiety, I am usually lacking in sleep and I'm always on edge during the day. I've been experimenting on using CBD to help with pain, anxiety and sleep. Green Roads Relax Bear has helped tremendously with my anxiety during the day. Each gummy bear is delicious and contains 10mg of CBD. I've been incorporating it into my daily routine and it has made a huge difference in my mood.

To help with sleep, I have been using the Green Roads Sweet Sleep Nightly Dose. My husband has been going on and on about CBN lately and I finally tried it. CBN is a cannabinoid with special properties that is an ingredient in the Nightly Dose oil. Each rip n' sip satchet has the perfect serving of their sleep formula which contains melatonin, CBD and CBN.

I have a special discount code to get you 25% off the Green Roads site. Use melissalifestyle25 at checkout. The offer is valid through March 31, 2021 and discounts are not applicable on bundles.

Don't skip your laundry

I hate laundry with a passion. It's never ending and tedious. I am also super lazy about dropping dry cleaning off at the cleaners. I just can't fit it into my schedule. It's also expensive. I've heard great things about Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaner. It's an at-home dry cleaning product that is a powerful yet gentle way to remove bacteria and odor from your fabrics.

How does it work? It uses the heat in your dryer to activate the cleaning solution in the Dryel Activated cleaning cloth to release a steam that removes body soils and odors from the clothes. The Fabric Protection Bag maintains the optimal balance of cleaning agents and heat, allowing the steam to work thoroughly through the clothes, and then slowly vents the vapors out of

the bag and dryer. Dryel Booster Spray includes extra cleaning agents to remove stains and add freshness to heavily soiled areas prior to putting the garments through the in-dryer system.

After using this product to clean my special fabrics, I did not experience any fading, shrinking or stretching.

Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaner is available at Walmart, Target or your local grocery store.

I hope these products have inspired you to take care of yourself! Practicing self-care during these high stress times is important for your well being and mental health.
